We will begin this celebratory reception with an optional art activity.

Fair Housing Project’s Corrine Yonce will introduce the HeART & HOME, Home Then & Home Now art activity from our HeART & Home Project to kick off this reception. Review the activity here on our HeART & Home project website and bring whatever materials you deem appropriate.

We will have participants share the pieces they have made throughout Fair Housing Month and reflect on how Fair Housing Month has shifted their perception of home and inclusive communities.

And there are prizes, too! All reception attendees and everyone who submits photos of their art to fhp@cvoeo.org will be entered in a drawing for CVOEO “Committed to a Just Society” shirts and copies of the “Race for Profit” and “A Chair for My Mother” books.

Fair Housing Friday: Changing Realities of Housing after COVID

Join us for a discussion about the changing realities of housing after COVID and whether we are meeting the needs of our most vulnerable Vermonters. Presented by the Fair Housing Project of CVOEO. Panelists include Shaun Gilpin of Vermont Department of Housing and Community Development, Vermont Housing Finance Agency’s Seth Leonard, and Vermont State Senator Kesha Ram, facilitated by Vermont Affordable Housing Coalition’s Brian Pine.

Fair Housing Friday: Equity and Choice in Vermont Housing

Join us for a discussion about housing equity and housing choice in Vermont.  Panelists include Vermont State Representative Brian Cina, VT Human Right Commission Director Bor Yang, and Dalib Bulle from the CVOEO Community Ambassador Program. Panelists will focus on challenges to housing & mobility in Vermont, current policy proposals to remedy inequity, and creative solutions from around the country.

Join Minelle Sarfo-Adu, a Junior at Big Picture South Burlington (BPSB) for a presentation and discussion about Racial Discrimination in Housing & Community Impacts. This informative and easily accessible presentation will include barriers to equal opportunity in housing with a focus on the reality that there is still housing discrimination in housing, how to recognize it, and steps toward individual and community solutions.
