Vermont Human Rights Commission Press Conference

On Friday, January 30, at 12:00 noon, the Vermont Human Rights Commission invites the media to attend a PRESS CONFERENCE outlining 23 policy recommendations for the legislature. The recommendations emerged from HRC’s successful Civil Rights Summit in November, attended by over 300 Vermonters who gathered to hear from community leaders and advocates about what can be done to safeguard civil rights at the State level in the face of threats to those rights from the Trump Administration.

The press conference will outline policy recommendations in housing, immigrant justice, queer justice, disability rights, education equity, racial justice, and other topics crucial to human rights policy in our state. Guests from constituent partner organizations will speak to the impacts of these recommendations.

Guests from constituent partner organizations will speak to the impacts of these recommendations, and will include speakers from ACLU-VT, the Vermont Commission on Women, the NAACP, Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity, Vermont Asylum Assistance Project, End Homelessness Vermont, Disability Rights Vermont, and more. The public is welcome to join the HRC in the Cedar Creek Room at the Vermont Statehouse.
