Are you a BIPOC person that is pursuing first-time homeownership or are looking to buy again...Knowledge is POWER! Join us for a free webinar to learn about the Fair Housing Act, discuss what illegal housing discrimination can look and sound like in the homebuying process, and build the skills to be a competitive and informed homebuyer. This event is centered to educate, support, and uplift the voices of BIPOC identified people and their loved ones who would like to learn more about buying property. Topics will include:
- Tips and tricks to succeed in homebuying
- How to qualify for a mortgage
- Working with a lender and realtor
- Special assistance programs
- Where to get started.
We invite experts of all demographics to hold this space. This event is hosted by Kahlia Livingston from the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) in partnership with Eric Hoffman from Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) and Ana Mejia from Windham & Windsor Housing Trust and the BIPOC Financial Empowerment Program.
