Commmunity Action Day at Champlain Street Park

The Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) is hosted a Community Action Day to help revitalize Champlain Street Park, one of the few remaining public green spaces in Burlington’s South End neighborhood. The event offered the community an opportunity to come together in recognition of Earth Day and Fair Housing Month.

The Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) is hosting a Community Action Day to help revitalize Champlain Street Park, one of the few remaining public green spaces in Burlington’s South End neighborhood. The event offers the community an opportunity to come together in recognition of Earth Day and Fair Housing Month.

Join Parks Commission Member and housing advocate Nathan Lantieri, Burlington Parks, Recreation & Waterfront staff, Burlington Racial Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Director Kim Carson, CVOEO Executive Dircector Paul Dragon, and Fair Housing Project staff for a community gathering, park clean up, and lunch!

Community members will come together to hear about how housing security and community agency in the spaces they live contributes to thriving, inclusive communities. Fair Housing Project team members will share a brief introduction to Fair Housing Month, and highlight other Fair Housing Month community conversations and activities for people to plug into. Participants can enjoy lunch, conversations about housing inclusion, and help clean up the park. HeART & Home Kits will be available as well! Join us for this moment of caring for this community space.
